90 Miles To Havana
90 miles to Havana is a story about a close family from Cuba, after a the revolution and they got torn apart. The parents had to stay in Cuba and their three children Gordo, Julian and Alquilino had to go to America. Their characteristics between the three kids were different. The boys went through so much together and it makes them closer. This story is very sad because they were treated badly and sent away from their family. I recommend this book to anybody because it talks about people you love. Overall I very much enjoyed reading this and I did shed a tear once in a while.

Code of Honor by Alan Gratz
Kamran Smith, Iranian-American teenager has everything that an average teenage boy would want. For example, beautiful girlfriend, in football, and to make things better, his best friend scored free tickets to the super bowl. Then things start to change, his older brother Darius who is serving in the US Army in Afghanistan was accused as a terrorist. His family was looked and treated differently. People seemed to think of their family as foreigners since their mom is Iranian and was Muslim. Kamran couldn’t believe that his brother would do such thing. He loved his brother he thinks this doesn’t make sense. They both had a code growing up, be brave and protect the innocent. They had to keep the code no matter what. Then the government starts questioning Kamran but his belief that Darius is innocent stays strong. Find out if Darius is what they say he is or if Kamran has been right this whole time.

The Fruit Bowl Project
The Fruit Bowl Project by Sarah Durkee. During class a hot six grade class, a boy nudges a girl on the arm making her mark a answer that she didn’t choose. She goes crazy mad. Later on in the day another boy tells a boy a joke, the boy laughs so hard that milks comes out his nose. This book tells 50 different perspectives of this story. It shows how different everybody’s point of view can be. I would recommend this book if you would like to try something different.

My 2018 word
I chose delight as my #oneword because I want myself to be very happy this year and its not dull, like happy is. This word connects to my life and goals because once I go to high school, it would make me very delighted if I got into honors classes and get a workers permit to start working. My goal is to think of this word every time a make a decision. For example, I would choose the decision that would bring me most delight and success. What is your one word?

The Longest Ride
The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. If you like to read books about love and interesting life experiences then this book is for you. This book brings two different stories yet still touches the theme of sacrificing a loved one and following your dreams. Even though the stories take place in different time periods, many of us go through this everyday. The author brings up mature problems and scenarios of this world. I definitely would recommend this to you if you like to shed a couple tears and crack a chuckle here and there. If you would like to read more books like this one by Nicholas Sparks I recommend The Notebook, Safe Haven, Dear John, and The Last Song.

My perfect life
my perfect life. By the time I’m 21 I would have a all matte black Jeep Wrangler savana. Also a black and grey house with 3 floors and a bay window with a beautiful view of the skyline of Chicago. A walk in closet with most of my clothes name brand and a bunch of pairs of Jordan’s, Nike’s, and Adidas shoes. I would have the love of my life living with me and my beagle named Jeffery. I would be a famous professional cosmetologist working at a family owned salon/barbershop. My perfect life would be filled with adventures. How about you?
